Additionally, the Housekeeping Team Lead will participate in the activities of the Housekeeping Department to provide guests with clean, attractive, well-maintained rooms and a secure place to stay.RESPONSIBILITIES:LEADERSHIPAct as department leader on duty when assignedAssist in daily assignment of rooms to housekeeping associates and all room cleaning and laundry work assigned is completed according to brand and company standardsAssist housekeeping department leader with inspecting all rooms for cleanliness and maintenance issues dailyAssist in staff scheduling in accordance with forecasted business, maintaining productivity norms and achieving the departmental wage budgetAssist housekeeping department leader to ensure punctuality, efficiency and continued adherence to hotel policies and procedures, and delegate tasks as necessaryAssist in providing communication updates to associates and actively encourage communication with other departments within the hotelAssist in ensuring all staff are aware of procedures the Emergency Action Plan for the propertyAssist in inventory control, including monthly and/or weekly inventory counts and preparation of ordersSupport the department leader in the hiring and orientation of all staffAssist in training of all team members within the departmentEncourage team engagement, happiness and satisfactionCarry out the duties of an absent staff member and/or assist in another department as necessaryEnsure all staff are competent in the safe and effective use of equipment/chemicals in accordance with manufacturer's instructionsEnsure compliance with company and house rulesOPERATIONSEnsure corridors and staff areas are cleaned to standardsEnsure the timely and accurate completion of housekeeping forms/reports, following procedures required by hotel policyClean rooms, common and staff areas or work in laundry as neededRespond to and anticipate guest needs with any comments or complaints being action following procedures in accordance with hotel and company policyReport maintenance issues by completing maintenance slips and follow up in maintenance work in rooms to ensure that work is completedAssist in collection of used linen from the floors and sort to wash typeLaunder and fold blankets, bedspreads and other items, handling soiled linen in accordance with health and safety requirementsNotify management of any repairs/alternations required to linen, terry, bedding and drapesMaintain security for guests and property by ensuring guestroom doors as well as storage closets are closed and locked at all times, key cards are controlled, and lost and found articles are properly logged and securely storedReport suspicious activity by guests or others and observes all security and safety measuresAssist in other areas of the housekeeping department as neededQUALIFICATIONS:Experience Required1-2 years of experience working in a similar role, previous hotel experience considered an assetPrevious exposure to expenses and budgets considered an assetPrevious exposure with inventory management considered an assetMission Critical CompetenciesAbility to demonstrate being both a leader and team playerStrong attention to detail, quality workmanshipExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to set and monitor goals and provide status updates as requiredAbility to set priorities for self and others in the hotelA fun, positive attitude with a sense of humourDesired EducationA High School Diploma or GED requiredWORKING CONDITIONS:May be required to work early morning, late evening and weekend shiftsAbility to lift and carry objects up to 30 lbs.Fun work environment, committed to realizing all of our Core Pillars
