Entrepreneurial to our core, our talented team members transcend obstacles into opportunities and are successfully transforming mid-market business practices.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the completion of tax engagements by computing taxes owed, preparing personal and corporate tax returns (and other compliance slips), preparing year-end tax forms (T4s and T5s), calculating and reviewing share capitalSet up files for new clients and newly incorporated businessesPrepare journal entries and provide bookkeeping servicesReview legal documents such as articles of incorporation, purchase agreements and amalgamation agreementsIdentify issues and errors,



investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutionsCorrespond with clients and various government agencies to address client tax compliance issuesAssist in the preparation of correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlightsWork collaboratively with the client engagement teamMaintain flexibility to travel, as necessarySkills and ExperiencePost-secondary degree or certificate in accounting or another relevant fieldThe following would be considered an asset:Experience in an accounting, customer service and/or client service environmentExperience in financial statement analysis and preparation of tax returnsExperience working with accounting and tax softwareWorking knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax ActMyRewards@MNPWith a focus on high-potential earnings, MNP is proud to offer customized rewards that support our unique culture and a balanced lifestyle to thrive at work and outside of the office.
