About the Role
Our client, a leader in innovative power generation solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to manage and execute key projects within their diverse energy portfolio in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This role is integral to the successful delivery of cutting‑edge power generation projects, focusing on efficiency, sustainability, and reliability. You will be responsible for technical design oversight, vendor management, procurement coordination, and ensuring projects meet stringent quality, safety, and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, extensive project management experience, and a deep understanding of various power generation technologies, including renewable and conventional sources. Key Responsibilities

Lead the technical aspects of power generation projects from concept through to commissioning.

Oversee the development of engineering designs, specifications, and drawings.

Manage the selection, negotiation, and procurement of equipment and services.

Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure project milestones are met.

Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, codes, safety regulations, and environmental policies.

Conduct technical reviews and provide solutions for engineering challenges that arise during project execution.





Monitor project progress, manage budgets, and control project risks.

Facilitate effective communication between project stakeholders.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of project engineering processes and methodologies.

Prepare technical documentation and reports for project progress and completion.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in project engineering or project management within the power generation sector.

Proven experience managing complex engineering projects involving various power generation technologies (e.g., gas turbines, solar, wind, battery storage).

Strong understanding of engineering design principles, project execution, and contract management.

Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in project management software and engineering design tools.

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic project workplace.

Must be eligible to work in Kimberley, Northern Cape .
