Modernize Intact’s shared technology platforms through hands-on software architecture, cloud services, APIs, and resilient production engineering in a hybrid work model.
This Principal Software Engineering role combines extensive coding with enterprise technical leadership across complex production environments. You will shape platform roadmaps, guide modernization, and connect technical decisions with business outcomes. The work spans microservices, distributed systems, integration platforms, legacy systems, and major cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities: Write and review production code across critical shared platforms
Shape technology direction, platform boundaries, and modernization roadmaps
Resolve production, performance, security, and integration problems
Develop reusable frameworks, APIs, automation,



and engineering toolkits
Advise senior leaders on high-risk technical decisions
Requirements: Degree in computer science, software engineering, or related discipline
Extensive development experience with recent hands-on coding
Deep expertise in architecture, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
Experience with Java, cloud platforms, testing, and observability
Eligibility to work in Canada without sponsorship
