Support anesthesia care at Campbell River Hospital in Campbell River, BC, using clinical assistance and medical equipment skills. This casual position follows as-required scheduling.
Reporting to the Manager or designate, the Anesthesia Assistant works under anesthesiologist supervision within an integrated surgical team. The position supports induction, maintenance, and recovery phases of anesthesia while following Canadian Anesthesiologists Society standards. Patient and staff safety remain shared responsibilities throughout the work.
Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support during anesthesia care phases
Assist with induction, maintenance, and recovery
Use clinical-area medical equipment and supplies




Assess patient responses and respond appropriately
Demonstrate equipment and procedures to others
Requirements: Graduate from a recognized Respiratory Therapy school
Complete an accredited post-graduate Anesthetic Assistant Program
Know current anesthesia theory and practice
Know Canadian Anesthesiologists Society clinical practice guidelines
Hold Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
Bring anesthesia support, patient assessment, and critical decision-making skills to Campbell River Hospital’s integrated surgical team.
