As a Staff Software Engineer on the Equipment Monitoring team, you will process data from asset gateways, sensors, and beacons. Your work supports real-time locations, geofence events, trips, and alerts. You will build cloud services while collaborating with Embedded, firmware, IoT, and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities: Build observable, reliable, scalable telemetry backend services
Design Kafka and Flink stream-processing pipelines
Maintain scalable APIs for internal and external applications
Collaborate on device data contracts and feature delivery
Improve code quality and reduce technical debt
Requirements: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field
Five or more years of software development experience
Distributed systems and event-driven pipeline experience
Up-to-date programming language experience; Ruby, Golang, Kotlin, or Java valued
AWS, database, IoT, or geospatial systems experience
Apply backend engineering expertise across Kafka, Flink, AWS, and IoT data to advance Motive's Equipment Monitoring platform.
