As Director of Advanced Network Planning, you will lead analysts supporting tactical and strategic initiatives for Ciena’s largest customers. Shape the Navigator Network Control Suite roadmap through customer insight, research, and product hypotheses. Direct technical research across forecasting, capacity planning automation, route and spectrum assignment, failure analysis, and service availability modeling. Partner with product management, engineering, hardware, sales, services, customers, and executives to turn validated concepts into scalable capabilities.
Key Responsibilities: Lead executive and technical customer engagements on network architectures
Anticipate needs and translate insights into research themes




Set research agendas and validate advanced optimization methods
Define technical vision for advanced network planning
Build, mentor, and lead network planning experts
Requirements: 15+ years telecommunications experience with leadership accountability
10+ years optical and IP transport expertise
Experience planning and optimizing complex customer networks
Technical and product leadership for telecommunications software
Experience applying AI tools to software development and planning
Bring network architecture, optimization, AI judgment, and technical leadership to Ciena’s Navigator planning capabilities and customer solutions.
