Asana is expanding AI engineering teams across its human-agent operating system and AI Suite. Depending on team placement, you may shape agentic runtime architecture, evaluation and safety infrastructure, or customer-facing builders and canvas surfaces. The organization-wide process matches candidates with an ideal AI team.
Key Responsibilities: Drive architecture and delivery across medium-to-large AI roadmap projects
Design performant systems for agentic execution and model orchestration
Break ambiguous product visions into engineering milestones and tasks
Write design documents, establish testing norms, and run retrospectives




Mentor engineers and align direction with cross-functional partners
Requirements: Six or more years designing production distributed systems
Experience with microservices or complex full-stack architectures
Technical leadership across multiple services or codebases
Interest or experience in LLMs, RAG, or evaluation pipelines
Experience driving multi-contributor projects from ambiguity to delivery
Lead Asana’s AI engineering work through architecture, distributed systems, technical mentorship, and customer-focused decision-making in Vancouver.
