As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will build and maintain services supporting Tucows Domains products. This hands-on individual contributor role provides technical direction across multiple systems while coordinating delivery with Product, Operations, and engineering teams. You will solve complex problems and share knowledge.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain secure backend systems
Provide technical direction across applications and services
Design APIs, database schemas, integrations, and data contracts
Debug production issues and lead incident responses
Mentor engineers and maintain technical documentation
Requirements: Six or more years of backend engineering experience
Strong Python, Go, or similar language experience
RESTful API experience with FastAPI, Gin, or similar frameworks
Relational database experience, preferably PostgreSQL
Remote distributed-team experience and solid collaboration skills
