Lead character effects for Netflix Animation Studios in Vancouver, using hair, fur, cloth, and garment simulations within a hybrid schedule.
As Character Effects Supervisor, you will lead the CFX team on an upcoming feature film. You will align simulations with the Director's vision while supporting performance, storytelling, and downstream technical needs. The work spans Houdini or Maya, CFX pipelines, and caching strategies.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise hair, fur, cloth, garment, and secondary motion simulations
Translate design and performance requirements into CFX approaches
Lead CFX dailies and provide constructive simulation feedback
Create complex hero assets, setups, or shots
Collaborate across modeling, rigging, animation, lighting,



and technical teams
Requirements: Extensive feature animation, VFX, or high-end series experience
Lead or supervisory experience within Character Effects
Robust reel demonstrating advanced character simulations
Proficiency with Houdini and/or Maya and CFX pipelines
Understanding of anatomy, tailoring, weight, and emotional movement
Bring CFX leadership, simulation expertise, and cross-department collaboration to Netflix Animation Studios' Vancouver feature film production.
