About the Role Our client, a groundbreaking studio in the Arts & Entertainment sector, is seeking a highly creative and experienced Remote Animation Director . This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to lead animation projects from anywhere in the world. You will be responsible for guiding teams of animators, defining the visual style, and ensuring the artistic integrity and quality of animated content for film, television, or games. The ideal candidate possesses a strong artistic vision, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of animation principles and workflows. This role requires a passion for storytelling and the ability to inspire and motivate a distributed creative team to achieve outstanding results. You will be at the forefront of innovative animation production.
Key Responsibilities Lead and direct animation teams throughout the entire production pipeline, from concept to final delivery.
Define and maintain the overall artistic vision and animation style for projects.
Provide clear creative direction, feedback, and mentorship to animators, modelers, riggers, and other related artists.
Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and other department heads to ensure alignment with project goals.
Oversee the quality and consistency of animation, character performance, and visual storytelling.
Troubleshoot creative and technical challenges, finding effective solutions to ensure project success.
Review work-in-progress and provide constructive critiques to guide the team.
Develop and refine animation workflows and best practices.




Stay current with emerging technologies and techniques in animation and visual effects.
Contribute to the creative development process, including character design and storyboarding.
Requirements Extensive experience in animation, with a proven track record as an Animation Director or Lead Animator on significant projects.
A strong portfolio showcasing directing and/or lead work on high-quality animation productions.
Deep understanding of character animation, cinematography, staging, and storytelling principles.
Proficiency with industry-standard 3D animation software (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max) and 2D animation tools.
Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage creative teams effectively in a remote setting.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Strong artistic eye and a keen sense of visual design and composition.
Ability to provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback.
Familiarity with various animation pipelines and game engines is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
