As a Microbiology Technologist with Island Health, you will perform established microbiology laboratory procedures under a Supervisor or delegate. Your work supports the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics and its commitment to high-quality laboratory services. The temporary full time assignment includes rotating days off and evening shifts.
Key Responsibilities: Perform established microbiology laboratory procedures
Analyse specimens to detect and identify bacteria
Identify clinically significant organisms
Operate related equipment and computerized information systems




Demonstrate procedures to employees and students
Requirements: Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology diploma program
Hold relevant CAMLPR registration or CSMLS certification
Complete recent microbiology courses or possess related experience
Apply current microbiology testing techniques and procedures
Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and families
Use microbiology laboratory knowledge, critical thinking, and collaborative skills to support patient-focused services at Royal Jubilee Hospital.
