WSP seeks a Senior Substation Engineer with high-voltage design expertise to deliver utility and renewable energy projects across Canada.
This senior engineering role supports substation projects from concept through commissioning. You will apply IEEE and ANSI standards, develop protection and control designs, prepare technical documentation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The work serves utility, renewable energy, and industrial power projects.
Key Responsibilities: Design medium- and high-voltage utility substations
Develop layouts, diagrams, routing plans, and equipment details
Perform lightning protection and station service calculations
Prepare protection philosophies, schematics, and wiring diagrams




Provide technical support during construction and commissioning
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Qualified Engineer designation or Canadian registration eligibility
At least 10 to 15 years' substation design experience
Experience with brownfield and greenfield projects
Knowledge of transmission and distribution protection philosophies
Bring senior substation design, protection, calculation, and technical communication skills to WSP's Canadian energy projects.
