ALS seeks a General Labourer for its Sample Preparation and Comminution Department. You will complete sample preparation, screen analysis, and supervised testing while maintaining analytical quality. The work includes production logs, equipment inspections, cleaning, database use, and laboratory safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Sieve, crush, homogenize, and split client samples
Complete test work using Bond rod and ball mills
Perform supervised testing with specified laboratory equipment
Maintain production logs and complete routine equipment inspections
Perform screen analysis and general laboratory cleaning
Requirements: Grade 12 diploma
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
Good communication, coordination, and organizational skills
Positive command of the English language
Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand or sit eight hours
Support ALS sample preparation through careful equipment operation, quality procedures, safety compliance, and accurate laboratory documentation.
