Stuart Olson is searching for a Journeyperson Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician to join us at an industrial site in the Red Deer area.

Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.

Ensure compliance with Canadian building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.

Maintain accurate service records and documentation.

Communicate effectively with client teams and provide professional support.

Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and company policies.

Job Requirements Local to the Red Deer area Certification:



Valid Journeyperson Certificate as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic issued by a recognized Canadian provincial or territorial apprenticeship authority.

Red Seal endorsement is considered an asset.

Experience: Minimum of 35 years of hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Compliance & Safety: Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes, safety regulations, and refrigerant handling standards (ODP and F-Gas).

Must hold valid safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid).

Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics; strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills; familiarity with energy efficiency practices and modern HVAC control systems.

Compliance to Site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol test.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with client teams.

Qualified demeanor and ability to represent the company positively on-site.

Strong customer service orientation and ability to build trust with stakeholders.

Adaptability and problem-solving under pressure in dynamic client environments.

Exposure to noise, dust, and potential hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools.

Must be clean-shaven for proper fit of safety equipment.

Personal protective equipment required (e.g., steel-toed safety boots).

Ability to stand, walk, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.

Regular climbing of stairs and ladders.
