Reporting to the Manager, Health Workforce Strategic

Planning, the Senior Policy & Project Advisor supports and leads priority initiatives within the Health Workforce Strategy and Policy Branch.

The position works collaboratively with subject matter experts, project teams, and other divisions to coordinate program supports, conduct research and analysis, support stakeholder engagement, and ensure initiatives align with ministry and government priorities.

As a Senior Policy & Project Advisor, you will provide strategic advice and recommendations on complex policy and project issues, identify policy implications, and collaborate across divisions to support coordinated and effective outcomes.

You will adapt to evolving project needs, address challenges, and help ensure the quality, alignment, and timely delivery of key initiatives.

In this role, you will: Lead complex, high-priority initiatives aligned with Alberta’s health system goals.

Provide strategic policy advice, research, project management, and coordination.

Lead sensitive files and engage diverse stakeholders across divisions and ministries.

Prepare and review Cabinet documents, briefings, presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership.

Review policy, legislation, and regulations to ensure alignment with ministry priorities.

Analyze complex and emerging issues and develop strategic responses and recommendations.

Coordinate project teams, milestones, and deliverables to support timely execution of key initiatives.
