Job Summary

The TCF/TEF Invigilator supervises French-language proficiency examinations and helps ensure each session is conducted fairly, securely, and in accordance with testing procedures. This role is well suited to someone with strong communication and organizational skills, a professional approach to customer service, and an interest in education or teaching. Prior supervising experience is an asset.

Duties

- Welcome candidates, explain exam-day procedures, and direct them to the appropriate testing areas.
- Verify candidate identities and check that required materials and testing spaces are ready.
- Monitor candidates throughout the examination to maintain a quiet, orderly, and secure environment.
- Explain instructions clearly and answer procedural questions without assisting with exam content.
- Follow established rules for timing, breaks, permitted items, and handling examination materials.
- Observe and document irregularities, incidents, or concerns, and report them through the appropriate channels.
- Protect candidate privacy and maintain the confidentiality and security of exam materials.
- Provide courteous, professional support to candidates,



including those who may feel anxious or need clarification about procedures.
- Complete required attendance records, checklists, and post-exam tasks accurately.

Requirements

- Solid spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to give clear, impartial instructions.
- Excellent organizational skills and careful attention to detail.
- A customer-service mindset and the ability to interact respectfully with candidates from varied backgrounds.
- Reliability, punctuality, discretion, and the ability to follow detailed procedures consistently.
- Ability to remain attentive and composed while supervising an examination for an extended period.
- Teaching, tutoring, examination administration, or other education-related experience is helpful but not required.
- Previous supervising experience is an asset; candidates should be comfortable monitoring a group and addressing procedural concerns professionally.
- Willingness to complete role-specific training and follow applicable examination security and confidentiality requirements.

Pay: $18.25-$36.96 per hour
