We would like to invite a motivated professional to join our team. Founded in 1986, McAvoy Rule & Company is an established presence in the Victoria business community. We offer a full range of accounting, taxation, assurance, and advisory services to small, medium, and large companies, individuals, trusts, and non-profit organizations. Our team consists of 20 professional staff.

Summary of Position
The ideal candidate will work closely with the firm’s owners and will be responsible for all internal financial functions of the business including bookkeeping, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable. This position will grant the opportunity to work along side our other professional accountants, to learn about reporting requirements in a changing regulatory workplace and may be a good fit for someone considering pursuing a CPA designation in the future.





The duties and responsibilities of the Internal Bookkeeper roll include:

- Full cycle bookkeeping for the Partnership and related corporations.
- Calculating and processing semi-monthly payroll.
- Preparing GST, WCB, EHT, and other statutory returns.
- Client invoicing, payment processing, and pursuing past-due receivables.
- Recording vendor invoices and printing cheques for regular payment runs.
- Participate as an integral member of our administration team.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

- 3+ year’s experience in a similar industry bookkeeping roll.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and common bookkeeping software (SAGE, QuickBooks).
- Driver's license and vehicle

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
