Job Summary

We are seeking an engaging and supportive French Teacher to help students build proficiency and confidence in French. The teacher will plan and deliver lessons suited to students’ ages, learning needs, and skill levels, while fostering a welcoming classroom environment. This role may include individual or small-group tutoring and collaboration with families and colleagues to support student progress.

Responsibilities

- Plan and teach French lessons that develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Adapt instruction and learning materials to students’ abilities, interests, and educational goals.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate learning records.
- Support students with related academic skills, including English and Math, as appropriate to the role.
- Provide tutoring or additional practice for students who need individualized support.
- Establish clear classroom routines and encourage respectful, inclusive participation.
- Communicate student progress and learning needs clearly with families and colleagues.




- Use Microsoft Office and other computer tools to prepare lessons, create materials, and track progress.
- Organize classroom resources and manage instructional time effectively.

Requirements

- Strong French proficiency; bilingual French and English skills are preferred.
- Teaching ability and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with student; classroom experience is preferred.
- Tutoring experience and familiarity with early childhood education are assets.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to plan and prioritize tasks.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and general computer tools.
- Experience with special education or working with individuals with disabilities is an asset.
- Patient, adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse learning styles and needs.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2.0 – 4.0 per week
