Description of Role

The program coordinator is responsible for organizing and facilitating programming for members with developmental disabilities both in-house and off site.

- Close attention to detail and the ability to plan ahead
- Demonstrates a professional manner while working with residents and families in home and in public

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate and enhance existing Green Haven programs
- Implement programs that enhance client’s development skills
- Create programs and activities that assist clients in areas of communication, education, physical and mental health and emotional skills
- Adjust programs and activities based on client needs
- Create step by step program outline
- Initiate and set goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization




- Plan programs from start to finish, involving deadlines, milestones, and processes
- Manage and supervise in-person programming
- Schedule programs, activities, and events
- Follow up with Personal Support Plans for each member
- Fill-in forms with member or support workers to keep reports up to date
- Work on plans to help members development and success
- Assist with Individual Support Plans for clients
- Ensure setting around residents are kept clean and safe
- Complete additional tasks as requested by the management team
- Comply with company's Policies and Procedures

Required Certifications

- Vulnerable Sector Check
- CPR and First Aid
- Safe Management: Crisis Intervention Training
- Post-secondary education

*Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred)
