Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable HCA/Support Worker to provide respectful, person-centred support to people who need assistance with daily living. You will help individuals maintain their comfort, dignity, independence, and wellbeing in a care setting or at home. Experience in care is welcome, but a considerate attitude, reliability, and willingness to follow care plans are essential. Hiring for both Kelowna and West Kelowna.

Responsibilities

- Provide personal and practical support tailored to each individual’s needs and care plan.
- Assist with daily activities, including washing, dressing, mobility, and other aspects of patient care.
- Support senior care, dementia care, hospice care, and individuals with disabilities with patience and respect.
- Assist with meal preparation and encourage appropriate nutrition and hydration.
- Support medication administration in line with training, care plans, and applicable procedures.
- Help keep living areas clean, safe, and comfortable; report hazards or changes in a person’s condition.
- Communicate respectfully with individuals, families, and other care team members while protecting privacy and dignity.




- Follow safe moving and handling practices when assisting with mobility or heavy lifting.

Skills

- Compassion, patience, reliability, and a respectful approach to caregiving.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow care plans and instructions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively as part of a care team.
- Willingness to complete required training and follow safe practices for patient care and medication administration.
- Assisted living experience, nursing home experience, home care, or other senior care experience is beneficial.
- Experience with hospice care, dementia care, or working with individuals with disabilities is an advantage.
- Nursing or caregiving experience is welcome.
- Familiarity with cleaning, meal preparation, mobility support, and safe heavy lifting is helpful.

**Must have a vehicle and be able to work mornings.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
