About Us
Sushi Nomi is a Japanese restaurant located in downtown Victoria, specializing in sushi, sashimi, signature rolls, and Japanese cuisine. We are looking for a reliable and skilled Sushi Roll Maker to join our kitchen team.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Prepare and portion fish, vegetables, rice, and other ingredients.
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and assist with inventory and food preparation.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Previous experience preparing sushi or working in a Japanese restaurant is preferred.
- Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and safe food handling.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork.
- Willingness to work scheduled shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
