Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fitting, with the ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings. This role requires mechanical knowledge and proficiency in using various hand tools and equipment. The Welder/Fitter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project specifications.
- Use cutting torches, grinders, and pipe cutters safely and efficiency.
- Fit and assemble metal parts according to specifications, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery safely as needed during the fabrication process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve fabrication processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience as a Welder/Fitter or similar role in an industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools effectively.
- Familiarity with machining processes is an asset.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to welding tasks.
- Ability to operate cutting equipment and understand its application in metal fabrication.
- Experience with measuring tools for precise work.
- Ability to work in tight/confined spaces.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced workplace.
