The Wild Oat is located in the heart of the Glebe neighborhood in Ottawa for the last 25 years.

We own all the essential equipment required to produce the highest quality breads.

“A Day at the The Wild Oat”

04:30am- Wake up to your peaceful alarm clock. Quietly get ready while your roommates are fast asleep (or arriving home from a wild night out).

05:15- Drive to The Oat with zero traffic.

05:45- Arrive at the clean and quiet bakery. Say good Morning and check in with your fellow baker regarding timing. Get ready to ride the wave.

05:45-8:00am- Cut yeasted breads alongside your baker buddy, get your ovens ready, Egg wash croissants, and bake. Bake off sourdoughs, repeat until everything is cut and baked off.

08:30 Cut next days sourdough with baker buddy

10:00 Assess side tasks (cookies, scones, cinnamon buns, gluten free pizza crusts)



and plan accordingly. Baker buddy can be helpful if they have all their scaling done ect.

(12:30 Baker buddy shift ends)

13:00 - 13:30 Start end of day cleaning tasks, stock up depleted ingredients that were used throughout the shift.

13:30 Set retarder before leaving on your merry way to enjoy the rest of the day.
