Mechanical Designer / Mechanical Engineer – Building Systems

Do you enjoy making buildings work better? Miriton is looking for a Mechanical Designer or Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical team in Ottawa, working on HVAC, plumbing, and life safety systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings.

We provide complete mechanical and electrical engineering services for buildings, from planning and design through to operational support. Our work covers both new construction and retrofits of existing buildings, with a solid focus on building system upgrades and improvements. You'll be involved from the first site visit to the final design, working directly with clients.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Prepare CAD drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and life safety systems
- Prepare specifications in NMS format
- Perform site surveys of existing systems and prepare existing conditions drawings
- Review applicable codes and standards
- Prepare reports such as feasibility studies and investigation reports
- Attend project management, design review, and report review meetings with clients
- Provide timely updates on drawing progress and workload,



and coordinate with colleagues across disciplines

WHAT YOU BRING

- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Experience in building mechanical design, including new builds and system retrofits
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and NMS specifications
- Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code (OBC), NFPA, and related building codes
- Strong attention to detail and a reliable approach to deadlines
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle for site visits in the Ottawa area
- Ability to obtain a security clearance (we submit the application)

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
