Senior Data Analyst – Investment & Wealth Data

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Data Analyst to support a major data migration, integration and business intelligence initiative within the investment/wealth management space.

This is not a general reporting role. We need someone who combines strong investment/wealth data knowledge, complex SQL and dashboard development with the ability to investigate data, uncover business logic and turn complex information into meaningful business insights.

Key Responsibilities

- Build insightful business dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Sigma or similar BI tools

- Write, analyze and troubleshoot complex SQL queries

- Investigate source systems, databases, reports and existing data structures

- Reverse-engineer undocumented business rules and data logic

- Perform source-to-target data mapping, profiling and reconciliation

- Identify data-quality gaps and transformation requirements

- Support large-scale data migration and integration

- Partner with Data Engineers and business stakeholders to validate requirements and ETL/ELT logic

- Produce explicit data dictionaries, mapping documents and gap analyses

- Support data validation, testing and UAT

Must-Have Experience

✓ 5+ years of Data/BI Analyst experience ( 5-9 years )
✓ Hands-on experience with investment, asset management, portfolio or wealth data
✓ Investment/wealth experience preferably outside the major Canadian banks




✓ Advanced SQL — able to independently write and analyze complex queries
✓ Strong Power BI, Tableau, Sigma or comparable dashboard/visualization experience
✓ Data migration, integration or data warehousing experience
✓ Strong data profiling, mapping and reconciliation skills
✓ Ability to work through complex and poorly documented data environments
✓ Strong communication with both technical and business stakeholders

Snowflake • ETL/ELT • Bitbucket/Git • Financial Services

- Describe your hands-on experience with investment/wealth data (holdings, transactions, portfolios, securities, AUM).

- What is the most complex SQL you’ve personally written? Which advanced SQL techniques did you use?

- How would you investigate a source vs. target portfolio value mismatch using SQL?

- Describe your role in a data migration or integration project.

- How have you performed data profiling, mapping and reconciliation?

- Give an example of reverse-engineering undocumented business/data logic.

- What Power BI/Tableau/Sigma dashboards have you personally built end-to-end?

- What hands-on experience do you have with Snowflake, ETL/ELT and Git/Bitbucket?Who We Want to Meet
