Fantastic Personal Injury Law Firm is growing! The firm is looking to hire a Personal Injury Law Clerk. Role requires in office attendance in Oakville during the first month (or so). Once procedures are learned, hybrid work is offered.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct initial client intake interviews to obtain information regarding legal case
- Correspond with clients to obtain information and provide updates on case progress
- Assist with day-to-day management of files and compliance to deadlines
- Review and summarize productions, undertakings, medical records and transcripts, in order to provide various legal opinions and appropriate settlement offers
- Assist with discovery process organizing & summarizing evidence, as well as drafting Affidavit of Documents
- Coordinate with lawyers, clients and witnesses to prepare for trials and hearings
- Provide support to lawyers in courtroom proceedings as needed
- Legal research using various databases to provide legal opinions and application of appropriate laws and precedents pertinent to cases
- Monitor legislative developments relevant to practice areas and provide updated memorandums to staff and lawyers
- Review discovery materials to identify relevant information for cases
- Draft and revise legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, applications, and submissions
- Assist in settlement negotiations and document execution
- Liaise with witnesses and experts to coordinate testimonies
- Prepare and organize trial exhibits
- Determine causes of action and prepare case files based on investigated facts and legal precedents

Qualifications/ Skills required:

- 5 years’ experience with Plaintiff Tort and AB litigation
- excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- graduate of a law clerk program

Pay: $105,000.00 per year
