AZ Logistics Coordinator / Dispatcher

Shifts: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.

The Better Together Group is recruiting an experienced AZ Logistics Coordinator / Dispatcher for our Toronto-based client in the transportation industry. We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Logistics Coordinator to manage daily dispatch operations, coordinate deliveries, and optimize driver and vehicle utilization. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong communication and multitasking skills.

What You’ll Do

Plan and dispatch deliveries based on customer inventory levels, orders, delivery requirements, and available drivers and equipment.

Assign driver routes, schedules, destinations, and delivery timelines.

*
Monitor driver locations and delivery progress using Geotab, GPS tracking, and dispatch systems.

*
Adjust routes and schedules to address delays, supply interruptions, terminal outages, and changing customer needs.

*
Optimize routes to minimize overlapping travel, backtracking, and unnecessary costs.

*
Support drivers with delivery issues and communicate updates to customers and internal teams.

*
Review completed deliveries and investigate discrepancies involving volumes, locations, or delivery times.

*
Generate and enter orders and maintain accurate customer information, dispatch records, and call logs.

*
Document incidents, delivery concerns, actions taken, and resolutions.

*
Ensure delivery paperwork and billing information are accurate and submitted within the required 48-hour standard.

*
Respond promptly to administrative inquiries and resolve documentation issues.

*
Prepare shift reports, operational reports, and terminal outage notifications.

*
Use Octane, Geotab, Intellect,



and Vehicle Routing Optimization (VRO) systems to support daily operations.

*
Maintain customer delivery volumes, frequencies, and preferred delivery times.

*
Review routing performance and KPIs with management and recommend improvements.

*
Work with management and other terminals to improve productivity and maintain service continuity.

*
Help train overnight and weekend coverage staff and maintain FAQs and quick-reference guides.

What You Bring

*
Proven experience in transportation dispatch or logistics coordination.

*
Experience coordinating commercial drivers and managing changing delivery schedules.

*
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.

*
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

*
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data management and reporting.

*
Experience with dispatch software, GPS tracking tools, and detailed call logs.

*
Strong attention to detail in order entry, documentation, and follow-up.

*
The ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.

*
Dependability, punctuality, and a commitment to reliable shift coverage.

*
A team-oriented attitude and flexibility when operational priorities change.

Assets:
*
Experience in bulk delivery operations.

*
Familiarity with Octane, Geotab, Intellect, or VRO systems.

*
Experience reviewing delivery discrepancies, routing performance, and operational KPIs.

Schedule and Compensation

*
Annual salary: $60,000–$75,000.

*
Shifts: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.

Our client operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Specific workdays and coverage expectations will be discussed during the hiring process.
