Springboard Employment Services is currently seeking candidates for a BARISTA position on behalf of our employer partner.

Location: Scarborough, Ontario

Hourly Wage: $17.95/hour

The Employer offers Middle Eastern hospitality, specialty coffee, and premium handcrafted traditional desserts. They pride themselves on creating a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere for our guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities

- Beverage Preparation (Primary Role): Craft and serve specialty coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and cold beverages following standard recipes and presentation standards.
- Order Taking & Front Counter: Greet guests, answer questions about our coffee and dessert menu, take customer orders accurately, and operate point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Cash Handling: Process cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately at the front register.
- Closing Duties & Station Maintenance: Perform end-of-day closing procedures, including cleaning and sanitizing espresso equipment, restocking coffee cups and lids, and maintaining a clean beverage station.
- Teamwork: Maintain smooth front-of-house service during peak evening and weekend rushes.

(Note: This role focuses strictly on beverage creation, register operations, and customer service - it does not involve kitchen food preparation or food handling).

Required Qualifications

- Barista Experience: Previous hands-on experience working as a barista and operating commercial espresso machines is required.
- Availability: Must have flexible availability, with a strong requirement for evening and closing shifts (including weekends).
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Basic math skills for order taking and cash handling.




- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during busy store rushes.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience operating point-of-sale (POS) systems and handling cash in a fast-casual cafe setting.
- Familiarity with Middle Eastern coffee or tea preparation styles.
- Arabic is considered an asset but is not a requirement
