Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable Garage Door Technician to install, inspect, maintain, and repair residential and commercial garage doors and related hardware. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, comfortable working with tools and equipment, and able to provide professional service at customer sites. This role involves diagnosing issues, explaining repair needs clearly, and completing work with care and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

- Install, adjust, maintain, and repair garage doors, openers, tracks, springs, cables, and related components.
- Inspect systems to identify mechanical issues, wear, damage, and potential safety concerns.
- Use hand tools and other equipment safely to complete installations and repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, product specifications, and schematics as needed.
- Keep work areas organized and follow established safety procedures.
- Communicate clearly with customers and team members about work performed and any follow-up needs.
- Apply relevant general repair skills,



which may include construction, carpentry, drywall, caulking, construction painting, plumbing, welding, restoration, flooring installation, and tile laying.

Experience

- Experience in garage door installation or repair is preferred; related mechanical or field-service experience is also valuable.
- Construction experience and familiarity with carpentry or general building repairs are helpful.
- Ability to use common hand tools safely and accurately.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics is a plus.
- Additional experience in drywall, caulking, restoration, construction painting, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, or tile laying is welcome.
- Solid troubleshooting, organization, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work safely at job sites and follow instructions and procedures.
