Framer / Carpenter – $30–$35/hr – Full Time – Calgary

Alteus Building Systems Inc. installs prefabricated cold-formed steel (CFS) wall panels, floor and roof systems for commercial, multi-family and residential projects across Alberta. Position Details

- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: $30–$35 per hour (based on experience)
- Expected Hours: 44–50 hours per week
- Perks: Benefits package available
- Work Location: Calgary shop and project sites. Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license required (sites may be in recent developments without transit)
- Start Date: Immediate openings available

Responsibilities

- Layout, cutting, screwing off track and studs, squaring and bracing panels.
- Install steel stud framing on site, including load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls, headers, openings and bracing.
- Install sheathing, strapping, blocking and related components.
- Measure, mark and cut building materials accurately.
- Work from framing drawings and panel shop drawings.
- Carry, move and organize building materials (ability to lift 50+ lbs).
- Operate hand and power tools including screw guns, chop and metal cut-off saws, shears, drills, nail guns, compressors and skill saws.
- Assist with wood framing and general carpentry as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.




- Follow established company and job site safety procedures.
- Work independently or with a crew.

Requirements

- 2–3 years of steel stud framing, metal framing or carpentry experience.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license (sites are in new developments without transit).
- Full carpentry pouch and basic tools.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality and positive attitude.
- Knowledge of the framing process (walls, openings, headers, bracing, sheathing, hardware).

Considered an Asset

- Experience with cold-formed steel, light gauge steel or panelized/prefabricated construction.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and shop drawings.
- First Aid Certification.
- Fall Arrest certification.
- Aerial Lift ticket.
- Additional carpentry or metal framing tools.
