Job Summary

The Snow Clearing Labourer is responsible for removing snow and ice from sidewalks, building entrances, and other designated areas to ensure safe and accessible conditions during winter weather. The position requires physical fitness, reliability, attention to safety, and the ability to work in cold weather, including during evenings and weekends (depending on snowfall).

Key Responsibilities

- Transparent snow from sidewalks, pathways, entrances, and other assigned areas.
- Operate snowblowers, shovels, snowplows, and other snow-clearing equipment as required. All equipment will be provided.
- Apply sand, salt, or other approved ice-control materials to reduce slippery conditions.
- Assist with loading, unloading snow-clearing equipment and supplies.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and wear appropriate winter protective clothing.
- Report equipment problems, unsafe conditions, and property damage to the supervisor.
- Complete assigned work within required timeframes and maintain a high standard of service.
- Perform other winter maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending,



shovelling, and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in cold temperatures and changing weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Familiarity with snow-clearing equipment is an asset.
- Previous snow removal or property maintenance experience is an asset.
- Valid driver's licence is an asset; required if driving company vehicles.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions.

Working Conditions

- Outdoor work in snow, ice, wind, and freezing temperatures.
- Shifts may begin in the evening, on weekends, and during holidays.
- Work schedules may change depending on snowfall and weather conditions.
- Personal protective equipment and appropriate winter clothing must be worn.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1.0 – 20.0 per week
