Role Summary
LH Staffing Partners is seeking a skilled and dependable Embroidery Machine Operator to join a fast-paced sports apparel customization facility in North York. Your work will end up on professional players on TV, and thousands of fans across the world.
In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining multi-head commercial embroidery equipment to produce high-quality customized jerseys, lettering, numbering, and official fan gear.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation & Job Setup: Load DST design files, select appropriate hoops, backings, and thread colors.
- Garment Decorating: Perform precise hooping and alignment for jerseys, crests, player names, and numbers.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct active quality checks during and after production runs to maintain stitch precision, correct registration, and zero garment damage.
- Basic Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform routine adjustments including thread tensioning, re-threading, needle replacements, bobbin changes, and clearing minor thread breaks.
- Station Management: Maintain a clean, safe workspace and perform smooth shift handovers to ensure continuous workflow.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Work Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience operating commercial multi-head embroidery machines.
- Machine Familiarity: Experience operating Tajima, Barudan, SWF, ZSK, or HappyJapan (Happy) machines.
- Technical Skills: Practical knowledge of working with DST stitch files, hoop selection, thread tension calibration, and backing materials.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to quickly spot misalignments, tension issues, or stitch flaws to minimize scrap and rework.
- Physical & General Requirements: Ability to stand throughout the shift, perform repetitive manual hooping, and maintain strong punctuality and attendance.
