Title: Healthcare Security Guard

Pay Rate: $19.50 per hour

Site: The Royal Brockville

Schedule: Continental shifts (07:00 - 19:00 / 19:00 - 07:00)

Site Overview

The Royal Brockville (formerly known as Brockville Mental Health Hospital) is a specialized facility offering clinically intensive, secure, and community-based mental health services. As part of The Royal mental health care network, this location supports individuals with complex and persistent mental illnesses in a protected, recovery-focused environment.

What You'll Be Doing

- Conduct proactive interior and exterior patrols of the hospital grounds in all weather conditions.

- Respond to security incidents, using verbal de-escalation and conflict management techniques to maintain a safe environment.

- Investigate routine incidents and complete clear, accurate incident and end-of-shift reports.

- Enforce parking, smoking, site by-laws, and facility policies.

- Perform physical duties when required, including standing or walking for up to 12 hours and assisting with physical restraints.

- Work closely with site staff, hospital personnel, and security management to support daily operations.

Must Haves

- Legally authorized to work in Canada.

- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.

- Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification (WSIB-approved).

- Proof of at least two COVID-19 vaccinations.

- Complete immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Hepatitis B, and TB Skin Tests Steps 1 & 2).

- Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check during onboarding.

- Ability to be clean-shaven for mandatory N95 mask fit testing.

- Fluent in spoken and written English.

- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform demanding duties for shifts up to 12 hours.

- Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB),



or willingness to complete training prior to onboarding (training is provided at no cost with a 6-month commitment, requiring travel to Kingston, ON).
