We are looking for a Licensed Automotive Technician or Apprentice Automotive Technician to join our service team. Whether you are an experienced licensed technician or currently completing your apprenticeship, this is an opportunity to develop your skills, work alongside an experienced team, and continue building your career in a supportive dealership environment.

Responsibilities

Diagnostics & Inspection

- Review work orders and discuss required repairs or diagnostic steps with the supervisor, service advisor, or supervising technician.
- Inspect vehicles, perform road tests, and use computerized diagnostic equipment and testing devices to identify and isolate faults.
- Inspect and test mechanical systems and components, including engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.

Repairs & Component Replacement

- Diagnose, adjust, repair, or replace components across major automotive systems, including fuel, brake, steering, suspension, engine, drivetrain, emissions, exhaust, cooling, climate control, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Repair or replace defective mechanical units and components using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive equipment.
- Confirm diagnostic findings and repair requirements with the appropriate supervisor or licensed technician when required.

Maintenance & System Testing

- Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, inspections, lubrication, and other manufacturer-recommended maintenance.




- Test and adjust repaired systems and components to ensure they meet manufacturer performance specifications.
- Complete work in accordance with Volkswagen standards, dealership procedures, and applicable safety requirements.

Apprentice Technicians will perform applicable diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work under the supervision of a Licensed Automotive Technician and in accordance with apprenticeship requirements.

Qualifications

Licensed Automotive Technician

- Valid Automotive Service Technician 310S Certificate of Qualification in good standing.
- Previous hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles (2-5 years of experience)
- Robust diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Required certificates and training applicable to the position.

Apprentice Automotive Technician

- Currently registered as an Automotive Service Technician (310S) apprentice or eligible to continue an existing automotive apprenticeship in Ontario.
- 2-4 years of experience
- Hands-on automotive service, repair, or apprenticeship experience is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of automotive tools, equipment, diagnostic procedures, and workplace safety.




- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills under the guidance of Licensed Automotive Technicians.
- Valid driver's licence.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: 632 Pitt Street, Cornwall, Ontario

Compensation: Compensation will be based on licensing level, apprenticeship level, and experience. Licensed Automotive Technicians start at $39.00 per hour based on experience, with an additional bonus program and opportunities for increased earnings. Apprentice Technician compensation will be determined based on apprenticeship level and experience.
