Maxim is currently seeking a HEAVY-DUTY TRUCK & TRAILER TECHNICIAN for our Calgary Location. The successful candidate will work independently to complete diagnostics, service and repair of heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This is a outstanding opportunity to offer outstanding customer satisfaction while working as a valuable member of Maxim’s prospering team!
Hours: 7 days in, 7 days off - Tuesday to Monday 7am to 7pm
Responsibilities
- Complete thorough and quality diagnostic, service and repair of heavy duty trucks and trailers
- Identify potential and future problems
- Make recommendations on repairs or replacement parts
- Update the Service Manager on completion time changes
- Road test the unit to ensure quality of work completed
- Document repairs, parts, or problems encountered during repair process on repair order
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Designation
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic experience using Cummins Insite, Navistar, ABS control systems
- Able to sign Alberta safety’s/CVIP
- Able to work and service Reefers including refrigeration systems an Asset
- Knowledge of Hydraulic systems an asset
- Experience working on various trucks and trailers with sliding decks and liftgates
- Must possess organizational and time management skills
- Certified welder an asset
- The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract
- Valid Class 3 or Class 1 with clean abstract is an asset
- Interest in continually upgrading skills and knowledge in trade
- Ability to work within a team
