Duties
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, including pastries, cupcakes, and specialty cakes, ensuring high standards of quality and freshness
- Decorate custom cakes with intricate buttercream designs, fondant work, piping, and other advanced cake decorating techniques
- Follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation
- Handle food preparation tasks such as measuring ingredients, mixing batters, and assembling baked items
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Package baked goods securely for display or take-out orders,
ensuring presentation quality and freshness are preserved
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a baker with a strong portfolio of decorated cakes and baked goods
- Expertise in cake decorating techniques including piping, fondant sculpting, airbrushing, and floral design
- Prior experience working in a restaurant or food industry environment preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills to assist clients with their custom orders and inquiries
