Looking to hire a personal care attendant to assist with all activities of daily living (ADLs).

I am a 22-year-old male with a disability called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy that weakens my muscles over time. I have limited physical mobility and use a power wheelchair daily to move. I work, school, gym, play sports, travel, and love the outdoors.

Assistance Includes:

- Personal Hygiene (Showering, Dressing, Skin Care, Tooth Brushing, Hair Maintenance)
- Meal Preparation
- Exercise (Movements, Stretching, Working out to maintain/improve muscle function)
- Cleaning (Dishes, Laundry, Wheelchair, Desk)
- General Assistance at home/outings

Transfers are done using a lift, so no heavy lifting is required. I’ll show you how to use the lift safely and provide training on all other equipment.

Specific experience is not required, just someone who is dependable, reliable and willing to learn. I will train you on my routine, and walk you through it step by step. This is a great job for nurses, people experienced with assisting someone with a disability, students, or people looking for another part-time job on the side.

Possible Shifts:

- Morning (2–3 hrs)
- Lunch/Evening (2 hrs)
- Night/Overnight (7.5 hrs): night routine/assistance turning sides
- Any Additional Shift (Outings in the community, medical appointments, groceries, etc.)

Requirements:

- Communicative and reliable
- Calm in stressful circumstances
- Driver’s licence (G), preferred
- Able to understand when I need full, partial, or no assistance
