Job Summary

The Farm Labourer supports daily farm operations, helping maintain crops, fields, equipment, and growing areas. This hands-on role is suited to someone who enjoys outdoor work, gardening, and horticulture. Duties may vary with the season and farm needs.

Responsibilities

- Assist with planting, cultivating, weeding, pruning, and harvesting crops.
- Support irrigation tasks, including checking lines, moving hoses, and reporting leaks or other issues.
- Use and care for hand tools and basic farm equipment safely.
- Help maintain gardens, growing areas, pathways, and workspaces.
- Move supplies, soil, produce, and other materials; perform heavy lifting as needed.
- Carry out routine equipment checks and report maintenance concerns.
- Apply basic math when measuring materials, counting produce, or following planting and spacing instructions.
- Follow farm safety procedures and instructions,



and work cooperatively with the team.

Qualifications

- Interest in farm work, gardening, or horticulture; previous experience is helpful but not required.
- Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather and performing physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Able to lift and move heavy materials safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Familiarity with hand tools and a willingness to learn protected equipment practices.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with basic equipment maintenance is an asset.
- Able to follow directions, communicate clearly, and work reliably as part of a team.

Pay: $17.95 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
