About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Shopify Developer to improve, maintain and support the
front-end and back-end functionality of our existing Shopify website.
Our main objective is to launch reliable shipping across Canada within six months. You will work closely with our marketing team to prepare the website for this expansion, improve the mobile shopping experience and increase direct online sales and qualified quote requests.
We need someone who can proactively identify areas for improvement, recommend practical solutions, and implement and test those changes. Mobile functionality is a priority because most of our customers access the website from their phones.
Key Responsibilities
● Audit the existing website, identify technical issues and improvement opportunities, and
develop a prioritized action plan.
● Improve and maintain Shopify themes, apps, integrations and custom features.
● Ensure a smooth mobile experience for browsing products, selecting options, requesting
quotes and completing purchases.
● Test and improve the complete customer journey, including product pages, add-to-cart
functionality, cart, checkout, payments and order confirmations.
● Configure and verify shipping options, rates and delivery information to support
nationwide orders.
● Improve product compatibility and fitment information so customers can confidently
select the correct accessories for their trucks.
● Implement or improve customer follow-up workflows, abandoned checkout recovery,
notifications, back-in-stock alerts and email subscription forms.
● Ensure quote requests, customer forms and automated communications function
correctly.
● Collaborate with marketing to implement and validate conversion tracking through
Shopify, GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads and Meta, as applicable.
● Verify accurate tracking of purchases, revenue, add-to-cart actions, checkout activity and
quote submissions, while preventing duplicate conversion reporting.
● Improve technical SEO, including crawlability, indexing, structured data, redirects,
broken links and website structure.
● Optimize website speed, page loading and Core Web Vitals, particularly on mobile
devices.
● Review and maintain domain configuration, HTTPS/SSL, app permissions, privacy and
consent settings, and relevant security configurations.
● Test changes across devices and browsers, troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing
maintenance.
● Document completed work and communicate progress, priorities and recommendations
clearly.
SEO Collaboration
Our marketing team is working on keyword research, content development and SEO strategies.
You will be responsible for technical SEO, website performance, mobile usability and implementing the technical improvements needed to support organic visibility and conversions.
We also welcome proactive recommendations for improving our overall SEO strategy.
This role requires close collaboration with marketing to identify opportunities, prioritize improvements and measure results.
What We Are Looking For
● Hands-on experience developing, improving and maintaining Shopify stores.
● Strong knowledge of Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
● Experience with Shopify APIs, app integrations and back-end workflows.
● Understanding of Shopify checkout capabilities and platform limitations.
● Experience with mobile optimization, technical SEO and website performance.
● Experience implementing and troubleshooting ecommerce analytics and conversion
tracking.
● Familiarity with payments, shipping configurations and customer communication tools.
● Ability to collaborate with marketing and connect technical improvements to measurable
business results.
● Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
