Vista House provides specialized residential care for at-risk male youth with complex emotional, behavioural, mental health, developmental, and social needs. We are seeking dependable, compassionate Direct Care Workers to help youth build stability, develop life skills, and work toward family reunification or greater independence.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement individualized clinical care plans using trauma-informed, youth-centred approaches.
- Provide daily supervision, emotional support, mentorship, and consistent routines.
- Prevent and de-escalate crises, using approved non-violent physical interventions when required and in accordance with training and agency protocols.
- Complete accurate daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes.
- Teach life skills, including personal hygiene, cooking, laundry, and household management.
- Support school participation, recreation, community outings, and transportation to appointments.
- Prepare meals, oversee scheduled medication administration, and maintain a safe, clean residence.
- Collaborate with coworkers, clinical professionals, families, and community partners.
- Maintain confidentiality,



professional boundaries, and compliance with agency policies and safeguarding procedures.

Requirements for hire

- Certificate, diploma, or degree that is directly relevant to working with at-risk youth (CYCW, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Criminology, Addictions & Mental Health, Corrections)
- PSW does not meet employment criteria

Sound judgment, strong communication and teamwork skills, reliable attendance, and the ability to remain calm during challenging situations. A commitment to respectful care, skilled accountability, and ongoing learning is essential.

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 – 40.0 per week
