Remote Phone Fundraiser - Western Canada

Public Outreach is hiring Remote Phone Fundraisers in Alberta to represent nonprofit organizations working on humanitarian, environmental and social-impact causes.

We're particularly looking for people who can provide reliable afternoon and evening coverage in Western Canada.

This is a fundraising job that happens to be remote - not a casual work-from-home position.

You'll spend your shifts actively speaking with nonprofit supporters, building relationships, asking for monthly donations and working toward clear fundraising goals.

This isn't cold calling, and it isn't commission-only sales.

The people you'll speak with have already interacted with our nonprofit partners through actions such as signing a petition, donating or subscribing to updates.

What You'll Do

You'll:

- Speak with nonprofit supporters by phone
- Have conversations about key humanitarian, environmental and social issues
- Turn complex issues into clear, compelling stories
- Build rapport and connection using your voice
- Ask supporters to become long-term monthly donors
- Handle questions, concerns and rejection professionally
- Work toward clear individual and team goals
- Participate in regular coaching and skill development

We're Looking for Western-Hours Availability

Our fundraising shifts are scheduled between 11 AM and 9 PM in your local time, Monday-Friday.

We're currently building additional coverage later in the day, so we're especially interested in candidates who can reliably work afternoon and evening shifts when scheduled.

Consistent availability matters.





Before You Apply - Check Your Technology

You must have:

- A desktop or laptop running Windows 11 or newer
- Minimum 50 Mbps download / 30 Mbps upload internet
- A wired headset with microphone
- A quiet, private workspace
- Reliable high-speed internet - wired Ethernet strongly preferred
- Basic technical confidence and troubleshooting ability

MacBooks are not compatible with our calling system.

You'll complete an internet speed and voice connection test during the hiring process.

You may come from hospitality, customer service, sales, theatre, communications, education, advocacy, public speaking or another people-focused background.

Your Voice Is Your Tool

Phone fundraising requires more than reading a script.

You need to communicate personality, empathy, confidence,



humour and urgency without relying on body language.

As part of the application process, we'll ask you to submit a short voice or video introduction so we can get a sense of how you communicate.

Compensation & Growth

Guaranteed hourly wage - not commission.

- $20-$24/hour
- $20/hour starting rate

Schedule

- Minimum 32 hours per week
- Four 8-hour shifts minimum
- Monday-Friday
- Shifts between 11 AM and 9 PM in your local time
- Afternoon/evening availability especially valuable
- No weekend work to start

Strong part-time candidates may occasionally be considered, but our primary need is consistent 32+ hour availability.
