Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join a growing boutique accounting, tax and advisory firm in Langley, BC. This role is designed for an experienced public practice accountant who is ready to take greater ownership of client files, build stronger relationships with business owners and work more closely with Partners and Managers. You will support a diverse portfolio of privately held businesses and their owners, combining year-end accounting and tax compliance with growing exposure to tax planning, business advisory, estate and succession planning, and outsourced CFO services. Take ownership of year-end engagements for privately held corporate clients from initial information gathering through completion Complete corporate income tax returns, related schedules and personal tax returns Identify accounting,



tax and business issues and work with Managers and Partners to develop appropriate solutions Review work prepared by junior team members and provide practical coaching and feedback Support Staff Accountants with technical questions and file preparation Work with Partners and Managers on more complex accounting, tax and advisory matters Gain exposure to tax planning, reorganizations, estate and succession planning, outsourced CFO services and other advisory assignments CPA designation or significant progress toward completing the CPA program Approximately 3-5+ years of Canadian public practice accounting experience Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate and personal income tax compliance Good working knowledge of ASPE and accounting issues affecting privately held businesses Ability to identify accounting, tax and business issues rather than simply process information Experience with CaseWare, Taxprep or similar public practice software is an asset Performance-based bonus prospect Extended health and dental benefits, with the majority of premiums covered by the firm CPA dues and professional development support
