Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cement Mason to prepare, place, and finish concrete for construction, renovation, and restoration projects. The role involves interpreting blueprints and schematics, building forms, installing reinforcement, and producing durable, accurately finished surfaces. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and on active job sites, using hand and power tools, and performing physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and schematics to understand project specifications and layout.
- Prepare work areas, measure and mark surfaces, and set grades and elevations.
- Build, install, and remove concrete forms; perform concrete forming for slabs, foundations, walkways, and other structures.
- Install rebar and other reinforcement materials as specified.
- Mix, place, spread, level, and finish concrete using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, smooth, and repair concrete.
- Perform masonry work and assist with restoration and renovation projects.
- Support related construction tasks, which may include carpentry, drywall, caulking, and flooring installation.
- Operate heavy equipment when qualified and authorized; assist with equipment setup and basic maintenance.




- Apply mechanical knowledge to identify equipment issues and support routine troubleshooting.
- Perform heavy lifting and other physical tasks while following job-site safety procedures.
- Coordinate with crew members and other trades, including welders, to complete work to project requirements.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and care for tools and equipment.

Qualifications

- Construction experience, preferably in cement masonry, concrete placement, or concrete finishing.
- Knowledge of concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry, and concrete finishing methods.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics and follow measurements and specifications.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in concrete and construction work.
- Mechanical knowledge; heavy equipment operation experience is an asset.
- Related skills in restoration, renovation, carpentry, drywall, caulking, flooring installation, or welding are beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work on your feet in varying weather and job-site conditions.
- Commitment to safe work practices, attention to detail, and reliable teamwork.

Pay: $22.09 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
