Position Overview

West Hillhurst Community Association (WHCA) is seeking friendly, reliable, and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Concession Attendants at The Nest.

This part-time, seasonal position is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing and serving food, snacks, and beverages to patrons throughout our busy community facility. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people in a fun, fast-paced, community-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide friendly, professional customer service to members, guests, and facility users.
- Perform light meal preparation, serve food, snacks, beverages, and concession items safely and efficiently.
- Operate the TouchBistro point-of-sale (POS) system and process customer transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of concession, kitchen, and service areas.
- Follow all food handling, sanitation, health, and safety procedures.
- Restock food, beverages, supplies, and retail items as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items to supervisors.
- Complete opening, closing, and end-of-shift duties, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
- Follow WHCA policies related to health and safety, customer service, and responsible liquor service.
- Work collaboratively with other WHCA staff to create a positive experience for all facility users.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications





- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid ProServe and Food Safety certifications are required, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- First Aid certifications are considered assets; training may be provided.
- Previous experience in food service, concessions, hospitality, retail, or customer service is an asset.
- Experience using TouchBistro or other POS systems is an asset.
- Comfortable handling debit, credit, and other customer transactions.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and occasional special events.
