Innova Contracting Ltd. is a COR-certified concrete formwork contractor operating throughout Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Surveyor / QA/QC qualified to join our team in Edmonton and the surrounding area.

The ideal candidate will have experience in construction surveying and quality control, preferably with a background in carpentry or concrete formwork. We are looking for someone who understands field construction practices and can ensure work is accurately laid out and completed in accordance with project drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform construction layout and surveying for concrete formwork, including footings, foundations, walls, grade beams, and slabs.
- Establish and verify elevations, benchmarks, gridlines, and control points.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Conduct QA/QC inspections to verify formwork placement, dimensions, elevations, and alignment.
- Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions with site supervisors and crews.
- Maintain accurate survey records, inspection reports, and QA/QC documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, engineers, and other trades.
- Assist with as-built measurements and documentation.




- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and project requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

- Experience in construction surveying, layout, or QA/QC.
- Carpentry or concrete formwork experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, layout procedures, and construction tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and construction drawings.
- Experience with surveying equipment, including total stations, laser levels, or GPS equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with site crews.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Relevant trade certifications, surveying qualifications, or construction-related education are considered assets.
