The Excavator Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of excavators to perform excavation, trenching, grading, and other earth-moving activities in construction and related projects. The role requires adherence to safety regulations, maintenance of equipment, and communication with the project team to ensure tasks are completed on time and to the required standards.
Core Capabilities:
- Proven experience operating excavators in construction or related fields (minimum 1500 hours preferred).
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Strong mechanical aptitude to identify and address equipment issues.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the team and follow instructions.
- Solid attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Valid driver’s license required (Class 1 or heavy equipment certification is an asset).
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
