About the role

We're a busy family with four children in Schomberg looking for a warm, reliable family assistant to help our household run smoothly. This is a flexible, hands-on role — some days lean toward cooking and keeping the house tidy, others toward helping with the kids.

A professional cleaning service handles the deep clean once a week, so this role is lighter on cleaning and more about everyday support. We're looking for someone trustworthy, great with children, and happy to pitch in wherever the day needs it.

What you'll do

Cooking & meal prep

- Prepare healthy, high-quality meals for the family
- Weekly meal prep so there's always good food ready to go
- Prepare kids' snacks
- Tidy and reset the kitchen after cooking

Light housekeeping & laundry

- Tidy and reset rooms and shared spaces
- Load and unload the dishwasher, and wash up after meals
- Take out garbage and recycling
- Laundry — washing, folding, and putting away
- Keep things organized between the weekly deep cleans

Childcare

- Supervise, play with, and engage the children
- Help with their meals, snacks, and daily routines
- Drive to and from school or activities as needed
- Keep the day running so parents can focus on work





Who we're looking for

- Experience caring for children, plus comfort with cooking and home organization
- Warm, patient, and genuinely good with kids
- Reliable, honest, and able to work independently with little supervision
- Solid time management and comfortable in a busy family home
- Your own reliable vehicle — we're on a rural property with limited transit
- References required, and you'll need to clear a vulnerable sector (police) check
- First aid/CPR and food handling knowledge are a plus

The details

- Hours: Part-time, about 25–30 hours per week across 4–5 weekday daytimes
- Location: In person, at our home in King Township (Schomberg area), Ontario
- Pay: $28-$32/hour, based on experience
- Start date: ASAP
