We're looking for a creative, detail-oriented Front-End Developer with strong experience implementing design systems and a great eye for visual design to help bring an established Figma design system to life across a live website.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of front-end development, UI design, and design systems . You'll play a key role in translating Figma components into clean, reusable code, refining existing front-end components, and ensuring the live website stays visually consistent with the design system.

You'll work closely with the Content and UX team to improve the website's overall consistency, accessibility, and responsiveness, while helping create a scalable, maintainable component library.

What You'll Be Doing

- Implement and maintain an established Figma design system across a live website, ensuring consistency between design files and production code.
- Translate Figma components, styles, and page patterns into reusable, well-structured front-end components.
- Review and resolve discrepancies between the existing design system and live website.
- Write and refactor HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript using the Foundation framework, consolidating inconsistent or redundant code into standardized components.
- Create and update mock-ups, page layouts, and design system components in Figma when new or revised designs are needed.
- Apply robust visual design judgment to typography, spacing, colour, and layout to maintain a polished, cohesive user experience.
- Improve accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility, ensuring components meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
- Keep Figma files and front-end code aligned as the design system evolves.
- Document reusable components, design patterns, and coding conventions to support long-term maintenance.
- Collaborate with Content and UX teams to prioritize improvements, manage tasks in Jira,



and participate in regular stand-ups and sprint planning.
- Use Git for version control and follow established development and deployment processes.

What We're Looking For

- Proven experience as a Front-End Developer , ideally working on consumer-facing websites.
- Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining design systems and reusable component libraries in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript , with experience translating Figma designs into functional front-end components.
- Experience working with Foundation, Bootstrap, or a comparable front-end framework .
- Strong proficiency in Figma , including working with component libraries, design patterns, and creating or updating mock-ups.
- Excellent visual design skills, with a solid understanding of UI design principles , typography, spacing, layout, and visual consistency.
- Experience standardizing existing front-end code and ensuring consistency between design systems and live websites.
- Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility best practices, and WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
- Experience with cross-browser testing and accessibility testing tools, including screen readers.
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work effectively with UX, Content, and Development teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and move projects forward with minimal oversight.

Nice to Have

- Experience working with Drupal websites .
- Experience supporting large-scale or content-rich websites.
- Experience creating component documentation or maintaining pattern libraries.
