Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician PLC Lead Hand to join our dynamic team at Porcupine, a leading sawmill operation. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), electrical systems, and field service operations. This role will involve working with a team of electricians while ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC systems and associated electrical equipment in the sawmill.
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for PLC and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with mill operations to identify and address electrical issues that may impact production.
- Train and mentor junior electricians and apprentices on PLC systems and best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, maintenance, and installations.
- Stay current with industry standards, technologies, and safety regulations.
- Assist in project planning and execution, related to electrical upgrades and installations.

Qualifications:

- Education: Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent.
- Experience:



Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician in an industrial or manufacturing environment; experience in a sawmill setting is a plus. Must have PLC experience.
- Certification: Field Service Representative class B certification is an asset
- Skills:
- Solid knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience with low-voltage electrical systems; familiarity with high-voltage systems is a plus.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various environments, including outdoors and confined spaces; must be able to lift 30 lbs.
